Wait on the Lord

"Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!"
- Psalm 27:14

 We live in a world full of impatient people and it's easy for us as believers to start mimicking the world's ways if we're not careful. Here the 27th Psalm ascribed to David encourages us to "wait on the Lord".  Too many times  we've set up our own deadlines and have gotten upset with the Lord when He didn't meet them. Have we forgotten who we serve?  This should not be the case. No matter what we are going through, no matter how impending the situation, let us "wait on the Lord".
 This doesn't only speak to those who lack patience, but also those whose trials might have them losing hope. Too many times our situations and the worries of this world will cause us to lose sight of the Lord. But be encouraged; the Lord will strengthen your heart during trying times. "Wait on the Lord." David was a man after God's own heart and he knew that even though there were trying times in his life that the Lord would help get him through it all.  You see, some commentators believe David wrote this while fleeing for his life from King Saul.  If the Lord could minister to David when his life was being sought; then how much more can the Lord minister to us in what ever situations we might be facing?  There is always fruit in waiting on the Lord.  The psalmist correctly re-iterates "Wait on the Lord" by saying "Wait, I say, on the Lord". Let's take the psalmist's advice and wait on the Lord no matter your given situation. Remember, Jesus has already proven His love for us on the cross by dying for our sins, allowing us to repent and ask for forgiveness and having victory over death by rising from the dead on the third day proving His deity. In light of this I encourage you to seek the Lord and wait on Him. Allow Him to be your comforter; fill you with joy, and be your strength
